Groundwork
For community organizations
Build the digital capacity your work deserves.
Groundwork is a pilot from New Ground Web helping small, under-resourced community organizations access professional websites and digital support without asking stretched budgets to absorb the full cost.
We’re building a cohort and working with funding partners to make these projects possible.
What could Groundwork support?
- New websites and website redesigns
- Digital strategy and online communications
- Digital marketing and outreach
- Social media strategy, content, and campaigns
- Copywriting, messaging, and storytelling
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Online fundraising and campaign infrastructure
- Forms, resource directories, integrations, and other digital tools
You define the need. We shape a practical scope and transparent budget together.
Rooted in community.
Ready for support.
For small nonprofits, fiscally sponsored projects, grassroots organizations, mutual aid groups, and other community-rooted initiatives whose digital capacity hasn’t kept pace with their work.
You don’t need your own 501(c)(3), an existing donor, or a polished proposal to express interest.
- Tell us what you need. Submit a short inquiry about your organization, its work, and the support you’re looking for.
- Scope the project together. New Ground Web works with you on priorities, scope, and a transparent budget at our published rates.
- Arrange funding if there’s a fit. If funding becomes available and the project fits, funding goes directly to your organization or an appropriate fiscal sponsor. Your organization or appropriate legal entity independently hires New Ground Web.
You retain control of your mission, messaging, decisions, content, and digital properties. New Ground Web does not receive or distribute partner funding.
Expressing interest does not guarantee selection or funding. Projects depend on available resources, your group’s structure, and funding partner requirements. Ongoing care is separately priced; a funded project does not promise free maintenance.
Support for the next ask, too.
Grant writing and fundraising support can be scoped separately when your organization needs them.
Ethan Hawes has secured nearly $700,000 in grant awards, including a $650,000 SOR II grant and $25,000 in PNC Foundation awards for Recovery Café Lexington.
Individually and with teams, Ethan has supported $500,000+ in other fundraising projects: $35,000 for Voices of Hope’s 2019 Giving Tuesday campaign, with the remainder in crowdfunding for Black Lives Matter Louisville and Reparations Roundtable from 2019–2021. That crowdfunding redistributed cash aid directly to impacted Black women and marginalized genders.
Past results do not guarantee future grant awards or fundraising outcomes. Any grant writing or fundraising work has a separately agreed scope and fee.
Tell us what your work needs.
A few sentences are enough to start a conversation.
