Your information

Privacy policy

How we handle information when you visit our website or get in touch.

Effective and last updated:

This policy explains how New Ground Web ("we," "us," or "our") handles information collected through newgroundweb.com, including project inquiries and Groundwork funding and participation inquiries. It also covers correspondence that follows those inquiries.

Information you share with us

When you use a form or contact us directly, we receive the information you provide. Depending on how you contact us, this can include:

  • Your name, email address, and other contact details you choose to share.
  • Your organization or group, its website, and the type of inquiry.
  • Your message, project needs, and any budget, timeline, funding, or participation details you include.
  • Our subsequent correspondence about your inquiry or project.

Please share only what is needed for the conversation. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, or sensitive personal information through these forms.

How we use information

We use inquiry information to respond to you, understand your needs, discuss potential projects or Groundwork participation, and manage related conversations and services. We also use technical information to operate the website, understand its use, prevent spam and abuse, and troubleshoot problems.

Information may also be needed to maintain business records, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

Services that support this website

Your browser sends technical information, such as its IP address, browser details, and the resource requested, when it connects to our website or the services it loads.

  • Hosting and forms. Netlify hosts the website and processes and stores form submissions. Email providers also process messages when you contact us or we correspond with you. See Netlify's privacy information.
  • Website analytics. The site loads Plausible Analytics to measure aggregate use, such as pages visited, referring websites, general location, and browser or device type. Plausible's standard analytics does not use cookies or store raw IP addresses. See Plausible's data policy.
  • Spam protection. Forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help distinguish legitimate inquiries from automated abuse. This service processes device, browser, and interaction information for security and can set a security cookie. See Google's reCAPTCHA data-processing information.
  • Fonts. Adobe Fonts delivers some of the typefaces used on this website. Adobe receives technical information needed to deliver the fonts and measure their use. See Adobe Fonts' privacy information.

These services process information to support the functions described above. Their infrastructure may be located in the United States or other countries.

Cookies and browser storage

The site remembers a light or dark theme you select using your browser's local storage. This preference stays in that browser until you change it or clear the stored site data. Plausible does not use analytics cookies; reCAPTCHA can use cookies for security and abuse prevention.

You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking them may affect features such as spam protection or remembering your theme choice.

Our website does not currently change its behavior in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal. The services described above still receive the information needed to operate when their resources load.

When information is shared

Information is handled by the people and service providers involved in responding to your inquiry, providing agreed services, and operating this website. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, prevent fraud or abuse, or address a security issue.

Links to client websites, portfolio examples, and other external sites take you to services with their own privacy practices. This policy does not govern those sites.

Retention and security

We keep inquiry and correspondence records for as long as reasonably needed to handle the conversation, manage an ongoing relationship or project, and meet relevant business and legal obligations. The appropriate retention period depends on the information and the reason it is held.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You can choose whether to contact us and what to include in your message. If you prefer not to use a form, email hello@newgroundweb.com.

You can also email us to ask about information you have shared, request a correction or deletion, or ask us to stop following up on an inquiry. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights to access, obtain a copy of, or object to certain uses of your information.

We will consider requests in accordance with applicable law. We may need to verify your identity, and some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or an ongoing service relationship.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for people seeking services for businesses and organizations, not for children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.

Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and revise the date above when our practices or this policy change. If a change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide it.
